We know that to stay relevant, cutting edge and innovative, it is crucial to have young voices at the heart of all we do. A key part of that is the Nottingham Playhouse Youth Board. One member of the Youth Board also sits on the Board of Trustees.

A Statement from the Youth Board

The current Youth Board is made up of 14 innovative, diverse young people aged between 16 and 25 who make a real and ongoing contribution to Nottingham Playhouse. The board is youth-led with a focus on open, accessible and inclusive projects that champion youth voice. It’s recent introduction is vital, as it focuses on the importance and necessity of making Nottingham Playhouse a place in which everyone feels they belong.

Our main areas of focus include:

  • Voice – to use our voice to communicate with staff at all levels as well as the Board of Trustees and we champion youth voices.
  • Participation – to welcome more under 25s into the building and use our stage to tell diverse stories that reflect the city of Nottingham.
  • Leadership – to advise, discuss and contribute towards achieving the actions in the Playhouse’s ongoing and future initiatives through youth-led meetings and agenda points.
