Please note we will not be running a week-long work experience opportunity in 2027. We are taking a year to improve our offer and reevaluate what meaningful work experience we can offer that will support young people to enter the creative industries equipped to both thrive in and revolutionise how we do things today.

This year we can offer specific work experience opportunities that introduce young people to some of the varied roles within the theatre industry. Some of these opportunities are free and those that are paid for opportunities do have payment plans and a limited number of bursaries available.

Interested in a career as an actor?

We offer practical work experience through our Connections Company (link to 2027 page), and our Monday Advanced Young Company (Mondays) – Nottingham Playhouse  and Thursday Advanced Young Company (Thursdays) – Nottingham Playhouse Advanced Young Companies.

 

Interested in a career behind the scenes?

Our annual Young Technicians programme Nottingham Playhouse Young Technicians – Nottingham Playhouse offers practical experience to those wanting to pursue a career working backstage.

Summer Schools

We offer specialised summer school projects, including stage combat, acting for TV and Screen, and larger scale productions.

 

18+

As an adult, we offer specific work experience opportunities to develop the skills of those wanting to pursue a career within the theatre industry. Some of these opportunities are free and those that are paid for opportunities do have payment plans and a limited number of bursaries available.

Homegrown

For people aged 18 – 30 who are pre-professional. You will be mentored by working artists, create new pieces of theatre, meet working industry professionals and build meaningful connections with like minded artists.

Youth Board

Youth Board – Nottingham Playhouse

For people aged 18 – 25 who wish to learn the fundamentals of arts governance. Recruitment takes place every 9 to 18 months.
