This year’s pantomime will be Dick Whittington rather than the previously announced Aladdin, which will be put on hold to allow for more development time.

Our artistic director, Adam Penford, says “Dick Whittington has all the ingredients of the perfect panto. It’s an inspiring rags-to-riches story, a cracking adventure of good winning over evil that takes the audience on an epic journey all around the world. The best dame in the land, John Elkington returns to play Sarah the Cook and the panto features one of the best baddies in King Rat. I am tremendously excited about bringing it to the Nottingham Playhouse stage next Christmas. There’s lots to look forward to in 2022 and this promises to be a fabulous end to a fabulous year.”
