Opportunities
For Amplify members
One to one chats might be about a project, funding application, industry and career advice and recommendations and / or enquiries about support in kind / use of space in the building. It is a good idea to come with an idea of what you want to talk about to make the most of the time.
If you are looking for support with a funding application and wish to send through any documents in advance of the meeting, please email beccy.dsouza.01@nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk.
The co-working sessions are also a good place to meet fellow artists and potential collaborators, you can book on to them (with or without having booked a 1-1) here.
If you’d like to talk about you and your work, you can book in below. I can offer funding application advice, signposting, CV surgeries, a wall to bounce ideas off – or you’re welcome to just come and say hello.
In Person at Nottingham Playhouse:
https://calendly.com/beccy-amplify/30min – please also book on to the corresponding co-working session.
Online:
To book an online 1-1 please check the latest Amplify newsletter for the link or email Beccy directly.
We open our ideas submissions window twice yearly, providing an opportunity for artists with a connection to the Midlands to present their ideas, whatever the stage of development they are in, and ask for support.
The submission window is now open. Apply here.
Fifth Word, in partnership with Nottingham Playhouse and Derby Theatre, have launched Fifth Word Playwrights. This year-long scheme supports first time writers and early career playwrights in creating a brand new play. Extracts of each play will be performed in an East Midlands theatre in the summer of 2025.
The playwrights were selected via open callout in September 2024.
Our current Amplify Associates are Nathan Ellis and Bridie Squires.
Find out more about the programme and our associates here.
Eleven writers were selected to receive ongoing training and mentorship throughout 2024.
Find out more about this on the Nottingham Playhouse Writers’ Group page.
This is a self-sufficient collective, led in turn by collective members who are selected through audition and interview.
More info about Amplify Actors Collective coming soon.

For creatives who have work to be getting on with but like being around other people doing the same, Company is booked out for AMPLIFY members from 10am-5pm. We’ll provide tea and coffee. Come along for a check in first thing, and we’ll have an end of day accountability check in for those that want it. Or just drop in when it suits you – even if just to say hello.
