Rootz are proud to present ‘Broken Pattern’ – a thought-provoking drama about trust, loyalty and the consequences of taking justice into your own hands.

“One good thing about being the social outcast is that you get to see patterns. You see who checks their phone. You see who says “don’t make it awkward.” You see who laughs when someone else is uncomfortable. You see who stays quiet when they should really speak up.”

On the last week of term, excitement fills the air as students prepare to trial a summer fundraiser escape room. But beneath the games and laughter, friendships are fractured and rumours of betrayal simmer.  When the lights go out during a rehearsal of the escape room, something happens that no one can take back. In the darkness, trust fractures and the truth becomes harder to escape then ever.

This performance has been developed with the participants using themes and characters they have chosen and is a testament to their creativity, commitment and hard work this term.
