I Remember Everything
What’s it like having 100% success rate on dating apps?
Quỳnh’s got her type down to a T—toxic, traumatic, and tragically distant… It’s time to swipe local!
Quỳnh, a sharp-witted Nottingham-born Vietnamese woman in her thirties, is returning to dating… locally, after a six-year relationship drought of disappointment and disaster, she’s beginning to wonder what’s up?
When yet another potential timewaster enters the picture, Quỳnh does her usual cut. But this guy surprises her – he comes back. Armed with her studious self-awareness—practically a relationship guru now – she takes this as a sign to give love a go!
This time will be different, right? After all, she’s “worked on herself.”
Typical relationship stages – friends, family, future – she’s ready! But things start to feel eerily and distressingly familiar. No, no, no – this can’t be happening. It’s threatening the only thing she’s ever wanted – acceptance. Her father is calling – Not now, Ba! Wait… so is it her past or is it the present? And what can she do?
Quỳnh fights to make it work at all costs even if the relationship starts to feel more like a citizenship test than a love story.
I Remember Everything is a humorous, heartfelt, messy and honest exploration of what it takes to break the cycle, balance heritage with contemporary British life, navigate modern interracial relationships and reconcile with past traumas.
