Since February 2024, Subject Object have been working in partnership with Nottingham Playhouse to support ten East Midlands writers as they worked towards writing their first plays. Working with Subject Object Artistic Director Nathan Ellis, the writers have developed their craft and honed their plays to prepare them to meet their first audience.

We’re delighted to kick off Amplify Festival with rehearsed readings of excerpts from all ten new plays, directed and performed by creatives from across the region.
