These are works in progress and as such are still in development. Content warnings have been provided by the companies but may be updated up to the day of the performance. Please check signage on your way into the theatre which will list up to date content warnings for each performance. A break out space is available for any audience member who wishes to step out of the theatre, and the performances are chilled, meaning any audience member can leave / return at any time.

Tea for Two by David Gibbons

What begins as an ordinary coffee break between Maria and former partner Jake, soon unfolds into something far more surreal.

The conversation loops and small cracks appear — an unanswered phone call, moments of déjà vu, and Maria’s sudden flashes of panic — it becomes clear that there are limits to what Maria can control.

Tea for Two is a bittersweet two-hander that blends dark comedy and romance. It explores how humour can both protect and betray us, how love lingers in the every day and how letting go sometimes starts with picking up the phone.

David, originally from Leicestershire, is an actor-musician and writer working across theatre.

His theatre work includes the National Theatre workshop of Pride (dir. Matthew Warchus), Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (Queens Theatre), Prince Justin in Sleeping Beauty (Congress Theatre), and Odd Job in the award-nominated Snow White at Blackwood Miners’ Institute. He has performed in productions at The theatre Royal Stratford East, Jermyn Street Theatre, Tristan Bates Theatre, the Gatehouse Theatre, The Other Palace, the Arts Theatre and the Lyric Theatre, including The Mercy Seat, The Jury, Rough Sleeper, San Domino, Seasons of Larson and many more.

Alongside theatre, David performs across the UK in guest entertainment productions including Our Lady Valentine and Tribute of Rock, and co-leads the acoustic duo Acoustic Notation, performing at weddings and live events nationwide.

He also works as a musical director and vocal coach and leads specialist puppetry masterclasses for Les Enfants Terribles.

Tea for two marks David’s writing debut and is excited to see it come to life at the Nottingham Playhouse.

Georgie is an actor, singer, producer and improviser based in South Wales. She is thrilled to be performing the role of Maria in ‘Tea for Two’ as part of Amplify Seasons at The Nottingham Playhouse.

Georgie’s recent theatre credits include an open-air theatre tour of ‘The Cursed Ring: A Viking Saga’ with Quill & Inkling, ‘As Good As God Loves Them’ with Boogie Nachts and ‘Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde’ with Whimsico. Away from scripted theatre, Georgie is also a regular performer with Improv Cardiff and is currently developing her own musical comedy act.

Jasmine is represented writer who loves dark comedy. She started out making

shorts with small production companies, and completed a filmmaking masters whilst

working as a Runner, Third AD and Director’s Assistant. She once won lottery funding

from for her comedy short THE DEVIL’S IN THE DETAIL. In 2025, her script

FALSE START was in the final of the Sitcom Mission competition, and performed

at two industry showcases in London. She was picked to be in the first Pirate

Productions’ Writer’s Development Group – designed to emulate a traditional writer’s

room. Her Indian heritage drives her to write varied characters, and she’s passionate

about great representation. In her spare time she likes to write on Substack about the

crushing pain of being a creative trapped in the corporate world.

Mike Bryans is a writer and comedian who works across radio, podcasts, screenwriting

and live stand-up. He has performed at the Brighton Fringe festival and competed in So

You Think You Are Funny? And Edinburgh’s Best New Act Of The Year competitions, and

is currently a regular on the stand-up circuit.
