£29.50Following a hugely acclaimed London run, legendary performance artist Bryony Kimmings brings her hit show Bog Witch to Nottingham Playhouse for a strictly limited run.
Drawing on Kimmings’ own life, Bog Witch follows her decision to uproot her and her son’s lives and move to a tumbledown cottage in the wilderness, attempting to reconnect with nature as a last-ditch effort to feel happy, grounded and sane. What unfolds is a raw, funny and unexpectedly magical journey, blending songs, stand-up comedy and performance art.
Both deeply personal and politically resonant, Bog Witch explores motherhood, mental health, climate anxiety and survival in the modern world. By weaving together humour, honesty and moments of primeval magic, Kimmings creates a haunting and hilarious piece of theatre that speaks directly to how we live now.
Commissioned by Soho Theatre Walthamstow and Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.
Originated as the monologue Freakosystem for the Charleston Festival 2024.
Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
