A rare opportunity to delve into the career of multi award-winning playwright and screenwriter James Graham.

Born in Mansfield, James attended Ashfield Comprehensive School and is an Associate Artist at Nottingham Playhouse. His first major play was the razor-sharp political drama This House, which enjoyed sell-out runs at the National Theatre and in the West End, and was voted Play of the Decade in Bloomsbury Publishing’s ‘60 Years of Modern Plays’.

In 2017, James made West End history when two of his works played next door to one another – the Olivier Award-winning Labour of Love and Ink, which went on to receive six Tony nominations during its Broadway transfer.

His work for TV and film has attracted equal acclaim. Recent highlights include Brexit: An Uncivil War (Channel 4 and HBO) which starred Benedict Cumberbatch, and ITV’s Quiz, an adaptation of his own hit play which was one of the most watched programmes of spring last year.

James’ stellar career is showing no signs of slowing down with several exciting projects for stage and screen currently in the works, as well as the digital revival of his new play Bubble which you can rent On Demand this spring.

How It Works

This event will take place online. At the time of booking, you’ll be sent an email with an e-ticket attached.

The e-ticket will contain two links to our website. The first link will first take you to a login screen, as access to the event will be tied to your Nottingham Playhouse account. Please enter the email and password you used at the point of booking.

Once logged in, the second link will take you to the page where the event will be hosted. If you are testing the link in advance (which we recommend you do to avoid delays on the day), you’ll see a message letting you know you’re in the right place.

On the day of the event, simply repeat the above process. Once you reach the event page, you’ll see a Zoom screen has appeared on the page as the event will be ran via Zoom. You don’t need a Zoom login, but if you’d like to create a free account you can do this here.

If you don’t receive your e-ticket straight away after purchasing, please check your spam/junk folders. You can find help and advice about our digital performances on our FAQs page.
