Alongside our production Punch, a brand new play focusing on restorative justice through the story of local man Jacob Dunne, we will be offering a series of workshops for schools and groups to support their visit to see the show.

The workshop packages are as follows, with prices available through expression of interest:

Workshop One – CPD Workshop

This workshop is tailored for those who are working with young people. It will focus on developing skills to support those with difficult behaviours, as well offering guidance on safeguarding. Led by Jacob Dunne, this workshop will guide participants on how to facilitate conversations around restorative justice, and working with the key principles of restorative practice. The session will focus on:

  • Behaviour management
  • Resolving conflict
  • Gauging how our values and beliefs influence our choices

This course has accompanying reading material. This event is to be delivered over two days at a school site.

Workshop Two – School Intervention Workshop

This workshop will focus on creative writing, giving participants the opportunity to understand the nuances of behavior, as well as characteristics and motivations of their devised characters. The session will develop:

  • Creative skills that can be used in wellbeing practice
  • Emotional regulation
  • Understanding of how our values and beliefs influence our choices

Age Guidance: 14+

Workshops will be either two hours in length or four hours in length. This event can be delivered at Nottingham Playhouse or at a school site.

Workshop Three – Safe Space Workshop

This workshop focuses on encouraging the use of creative skills to assist intervention with young people experiencing behavioural issues. It offers a safe space for those who may be affected by the issues raised in the play to discuss and explore their own expereinces through creatives mediums. We will encourage creativity as a productive and proactive coping mechanism, using Punch and Jacob Dunne’s story as a exploration point.

Age Guidance: 14+

This event will be delivered at Nottingham Playhouse.

Other Activities

During the run of Punch, we will also be hosting discussions after the show as a part of the Talking Circles project. These discussions will be led by members of the community who have connections to the the themes of the show, including youth crime, toxic masculinity, and education. These events will be free to attend for those who have purchased a ticket to the show. Find out more here.
