Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the performers of tomorrow.

Over 250 youth theatre companies and 6,000 young people from every corner of the UK take part and produce a Connections play each year.

Nottingham Playhouse is one of the regional theatres that makes National Theatre Connections able to happen across the whole country. Companies of young people who have been allocated Nottingham Playhouse as their partner theatre become part of our vibrant festival. They take over the Playhouse to perform their plays in front of live and celebratory audiences and participate in a variety of creative activities – a complete celebration of the power of live theatre!

If you are interested in your students being one of the National Theatre’s Connections companies, please head to their website or contact us to find out more.
