Assistant Carpenter

Nottingham Playhouse is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Carpenter to join our scenic construction workshop.

Nottingham Playhouse is one of the country’s leading producing theatres and creates a range of productions throughout the year. As Assistant Carpenter, you will be part of the Workshop team delivering all the scenic and technical requirements, including building scenery and supporting productions at Nottingham Playhouse and at other venues throughout the UK and the world.

As Assistant Carpenter, you will have experience of producing live theatre, knowledge of scenic construction techniques and the ability to read technical drawings. This is a hands-on role that would suit someone with great attention to detail and a commitment to finding innovative and creative solutions to help deliver Nottingham Playhouse’s work.

The role is offered as a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent contract. This is a wide-ranging job and we will provide on-going support, such as training, to enable the post holder to fulfil all aspects of the job.
