T_H_I_S_I_S_A_S_P_A_C_E for artists to come together, to create, to connect, to make, to own. 

The Offer

We have a week in our Neville Studio from Monday 15 July – Saturday 20 July 2024, set aside exclusively for events which showcase, promote, encourage and facilitate global ethnic majority artists and global ethnic majority leadership in theatre and the performing arts.

The week will be curated by our Artist Development Producer Beccy D’Souza.

We can offer the space for performances, networking events, rehearsals, meetings and workshops.

We would love the space to be used in a variety of ways throughout the week.

We can offer:

  • Space for you at Nottingham Playhouse in our 98 seated capacity studio theatre.
  • Marketing support.
  • Inclusion on our website and the Transform City Takeover website.
    • Season emails sent to regular attenders and members.
    • Additional emails sent to promote T_H_I_S_I_S_A_S_P_A_C_E to bookers of similar work.
    • Each event gets a bespoke event page and URL on our website.
    • Content posted / reposted on social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • A small guarantee (£200-750) vs a split on ticket sales for paid ticketed events, dependent on the nature of the event and ticket price.
  • Support from our Artist Development producer Beccy D’Souza in planning your event if required.
  • Ticketing through our Box Office.
  • Tech support for events where required (including a same-day tech rehearsal and an operator for your show if required).

Eligibility

You must be an artist living in, working in or with a connection to the East Midlands.  We are especially excited to talk to artists connected to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

You must be from the Global Ethnic Majority; Black, Asian, Brown, dual / multiple heritage, indigenous to the global south and / or have been racialised as ‘ethnic minority’.
