Jane Upton is an award-winning playwright, born and based in Long Eaton. She has written a number of plays including All the Little Lights which won Jane the George Devine Award. The play was also nominated for Best Play by the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain and won an Off West End Award. Her latest play (The) Woman is set to tour in spring 2025, taking in venues including Nottingham Playhouse. Jane is currently on attachment with the National Theatre, was part of Sphinx 30, a development programme for selected female playwrights in the UK and is the current winner of Adopt a Playwright Award, for which she is writing a new full-length play set for a reading in the West End in 2025. Jane has also just been awarded DYCP funding from the Arts Council to learn more about writing audio drama. She is published by NHB.
