In this workshop, you will cover:
- Creating mental Framework / systems – to change the way we view and feel our bodies through mental imagery, rule placement and understanding inner space.
- Isolations -Developing a deeper connection to body parts.
- Sensation practice – Embodying imaginary and felt sensations to change our characters conscious state.
- Animation movement techniques
- Connecting body parts
- Creating textures – How movements are executed through applying physics to a body part.
- Linking movement to speech through gestural influence.
- Creating character frames
- Drawing and tracing technique.
- Imaginary motifs – To bring hidden mechanics to movement
An organiser of this event is clinically vulnerable to COVID and will be attending in a mask; lateral flow tests will be provided to all on arrival, taking these will enable the organiser to participate in the session. Masks will also be provided to wear if you’re comfortable doing so.

Born and based in St Ann’s Nottinghamshire. Jamal sterrett is a self taught performance artist whose practice stems off Bruk up, Flexn and Ballet dance movement. Creating improvised performance art in response to the felt, sensory and aesthetic state of an environment. Jamal’s work is concerned with the relationship and states between body and space. Moving to transform personal and collectively shared paradigms, through transmuting the state of an environment using movement; as a method to respond, reveal, or transform. How we relate or interact with the conscious intelligence of objects, space, and thought.
