In this workshop you will learn how to
- Explore how we can create stories, characters and change a space using the body
- Perceptions of the body: in/visible bodies in culture and storytelling
- Explore physical limits, mechanics and possibilities
Drawing on Cassie’s work with LeCoq’s methodologies, her performance work and training with Frantic Assembly and her background in performance sport.
An organiser of this event is clinically vulnerable to COVID and will be attending in a mask; lateral flow tests will be provided to all on arrival, taking these will enable the organiser to participate in the session. Masks will also be provided to wear if you’re comfortable doing so.

Cassie is an actor and voice artist from Nottingham. She started her career at the National Theatre in Sam Mendes’ King Lear and Marianne Elliott’s Husbands and Sons. She has just completed the UK tour of Home I’m Darling for the National Theatre & BKL. Television includes: Wolfe (Sky), Natalie Watkins in Coronation Street (ITV), Mary Magdalene in Jesus: His Life (History/Amazon), Leigh-Anne Carr in Casualty (BBC), McDonald & Dodds (ITV), Jinty Morgan in The Coroner (BBC), Suspects (Channel 5) and Torvill & Dean (ITV)
Cassie leads the BBC’s DH Lawrence season Tainted Love for BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds (BBC Audio Drama Awards Finalist) and is currently a lead voice on an international video game for XBox and Playstation due to be released later this year. As a voice artist, she created the role of Nara in CHORUS (voice and motion capture) for XBox, Playstation and Google. She works extensively across radio, video games, animation and audiobooks. Credits include: Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Sky News, How To Find Home (Audible), BBC Radio and Paper Avalanche (Audible). Cassie is a passionate advocate for working class actors. She works with outreach programmes at the National Theatre, Luminary Bakery and Arts Emergency. She regularly contributes to articles and panels campaigning for greater opportunities for actors from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
