Schools Massive is a unique large-scale performance and CPD opportunity for Nottingham Schools to bring a class of Key-Stage 2 or 3 children to perform on the main stage at Nottingham Playhouse.

30 children from each school work with their teacher and Playhouse practitioners to prepare and perform a scene from a Shakespeare play of their choice to a live audience.

The fee for taking part in Schools Massive is £600 + VAT.

Each participating school will receive:

  • A 90 minute twilight CPD session for up to 5 staff at the Playhouse, led by our expert practitioners, on helping young people understand and enjoy Shakespeare.
  • 3 x 90-minute rehearsals in school led by a Playhouse practitioner.
  • ongoing support from the Playhouse team in creating, developing and directing the scene.
  • support in finding and sourcing props and costumes for the scene.
  • a full day at the Playhouse for the young people to practice on the stage, enjoy fun workshops and then perform to the live audience.
  • up to 120 tickets for just £3 each for other classes and staff to come and watch the show.

The 2022 Schools Massive will take place during Summer term with performances on Monday 30 June.  Rehearsal sessions take place in school during May and June.  See further details below.

The CPD Half Day
