Here’s some useful information to ensure you have an enjoyable experience when viewing your chosen performance.

If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, please email tickets@nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk as soon as possible so we have plenty of time to help you. We are also operating a limited phone service on 0115 941 9419; we’re available Monday-Friday, 10am-5.30pm.

General Tips for Viewing

If you are viewing on a mobile device in landscape mode, it may have automatically zoomed the screen in. If so, double tap to see the full screen. We also recommend using a ‘Do Not Disturb’ function if watching on a mobile device. This will ensure any notifications don’t disturb you during the show.

To maximise the strength of your WiFi signal, we recommend asking anyone else in your household who isn’t watching the show not to download or stream anything for the duration of the performance.

If using a smart TV, you should be able to access all our different types of recordings. Simply copy and paste the URL/link we send you into your browser and login.

Cinderella On Demand and Jack and the Beanstalk On Demand

As soon as you rent either Cinderella or Jack and the Beanstalk, you’ll be sent an email containing an e-ticket.

The e-ticket will contain two links giving you access to whichever show you have rented.

The first link will first take you to a login screen, as access to the page is tied to your Nottingham Playhouse account. Please enter the email and password you used at the point of booking.

Once logged in, the second link will take you to our viewing page and the recording of the show should be there for you to watch.

Jack and the Beanstalk is available to rent until Saturday 9 January, whilst Cinderella is available to rent until Saturday 16 January. You’ll have 5 days to watch your chosen show from the point of booking, or until the cut-off date for viewing (i.e. 9 Jan for Jack and the Beanstalk and 16 Jan for Cinderella). During your rental period, you can watch as many times as you like. Just use the same link in your email. After your 5 days are up (or after the cut-off date for the show), you will no longer be able to access the recording.

Are captions available on these recordings?

Captions for Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk On Demand are now available. To activate the captions, click on the icon labelled ‘CC’ in the video frame and then select ‘English (United Kingdom) CC’. To turn captions off, repeat this process but select ‘None’ instead.

What if I can’t find my e-ticket?

What if the links in my e-ticket aren’t opening?

This may be because your device hasn’t recognised the URL or has been set up to block these from opening. If that’s the case, please login to your account here, then return to this page.

You’ll then receive an email with a link to reset/create a password for your account. Once you have done this, click the link on your e-ticket again and login to access the show’s viewing page.

Cinderella Online Christmas Eve Special – Thu 24 Dec

At the time of booking, you’ll be sent an email with an e-ticket attached. The e-ticket will contain two links giving you access to our Cinderella Online Christmas Eve Special.

The first link will first take you to a login screen, as access to the page is tied to your Nottingham Playhouse account. Please enter the email and password you used at the point of booking.

Once logged in, the second link will take you to our viewing page. If you are testing the link in advance of Thursday 24 December (which we recommend you do to avoid delays on the day), you’ll see a message letting you know you’re in the right place and that the video of the performance will be visible from 8am on Christmas Eve.

We recommend you start viewing the show before 7.30pm and no later than 8pm, as the video will be taken down after this point and we don’t want you to miss any of the magic.
